Armagh GAA #WinToStayIn Skills Challenge

Armagh GAA posted six more games on Saturday night with 12 contestants once again battling it out for a place in the second round.

Each contestant hoped to join John Toal, Niamh Reel, Patrick Burns, Blaine Hughes, and Rian O’Neill, who have already made it through to the next stage of the challenge.

Game Six – Mark Shields vs Eoghan McDonnell

Modelling a vintage Mullaghbawn jersey from 1995, Eoghan McDonnell stormed to victory in game six.

Mark Shields put up a good fight but McDonnell completed the skill 78 times in the time provided, with Shields falling short with 55 solos.

Game Seven –Shauna Grey vs Jack Molloy

Shauna Grey submitted her ‘Dancing with the Stars’ video before completing the skills challenge, but she met her match in Jack Molloy.

The Keady man earned the highest score so far of the Skills Challenge with a huge 85 solos in the 30 second, beating Grey who completed the skill 56 times.

Game Eight – Greg McCabe vs Oisin O’Neill

This was a clash between “John Cena’s housemate” and a Henrick Larsson lookalike and this match up went right down to the wire.

Greg McCabe stole victory by the minimum of margins, completing 70 solos in 30 seconds, with O’Neill completing the skill 69 times.

Game Nice – Aidan Nugent vs Niall Brady

Aidan Nugent finds himself in the second round with a convincing victory over Collegeland goalkeeper Niall Brady.

Nugent soloed the ball 78 times in the time provided with Brady falling behind, scoring 43 in the half a minute.

Game Ten – Ciaran Mackin vs Ryan Kennedy

Ballymacnab’s Ryan Kennedy gained inspiration from the videos that have gone before and pushed the boundaries of the coaching points involved in a solo.

He finds himself in round two with 77 solos in 30 second, beating Ciaran “Skinhead” Mackin who finished with 41 solos.

Game Eleven – Aaron Kernan vs Shea Magill

Through the years Aaron Kernan has faced many footballing challenges, but never found himself up against a unicorn, until now.

Killeavy’s Shea Magill overcame the Crossmaglen star, with 49 solos in 30 second while Kernan managed 38.

These results mean that Eoghan McDonnell, Jack Molloy, Greg McCabe, Aidan Nugent, Ryan Kennedy and Shea Magill make it through to round two of the Armagh GAA #WinToStayIn Skills Challenge.
