Armagh GAA #WinToStayIn Skills Challenge

The final games of the Armagh GAA #WinToStayIn Skills Challenge round two were released on Monday evening.

12 more contestants battled it out for a place in the next round with only six places available!

Game 1 – Kelly Mallon vs Jason Duffy

An extraordinary basketball trick-shot wasn’t enough to help Cullyhanna’s Jason Duffy into the third round.

The Armagh LGFA’s captain stormed to victory with 39 hand passes in 30 seconds, beating Duffy’s score of 37.

Game 2 – Ryan Kennedy vs Rian O’Neill

“Corner Forward” Ryan Kennedy charged to victory over Crossmaglen’s Rian O’Neill in game two of the skills challenge.

Kennedy completed the skill 44 times in the time provided, compared to O’Neill’s 40 hand passes, meaning there’s no longer an O’Neill left in the competition.

Game 3 – Greg McCabe vs Niamh Reel

Liverpool’s McCabe continued his fine form from the opening round of games and was once again victorious.

The Silverbridge woman put up a good fight but it was McCabe who completed the skill more times in 30 seconds, winning 39 to 34.

Game 4 – Aidan Nugent vs Paul Hughes

Paul Hughes took time out of his busy house cleaning schedule to take part in the Armagh GAA skills challenge.

The Crossmaglen man finds himself in the next round winning 39 to 37 leaving Nugent with plenty of time to practise his 45s….

Game 5 – Jack Molloy vs Diarmaid Marsden

Rocking his 1999 Ulster Championship winning jersey, Marsden proved that age is just a number and saw off his younger opponent.

Molloy put up a strong battle, but Marsden was just fit to shade the contest with 39 fist passes in the time provided, beating the Keady mans 38.

Game 6 – Paddy Burns vs Donald Trump

Forkhill defender Burns will have plenty of time to help pick up cones for Kieran McGeeney as Donald Trumped the Armagh “substitute”.

The American President displayed his quick hands as he completed the skill 47 times within 30 seconds while Burns could only manage 41.

That’s all the challenges complete for round two and the competitors left in the tournament will now battle it out in round three as we await the draw for the next round!
