McKeever added to Armagh management team

Ciaran McKeever has been added to Kieran McGeeney’s Armagh management team for the upcoming season.

Over the past two years, McKeever has worn the bainisteoir bib for the county minors while managing Down club Mayobridge and being heavily involved in the Orchard Academy.

The former Armagh captain played alongside Kieran McGeeney during his early days of his playing career and was the natural successor to Geezer’s number six jersey.

McKeever led the Orchard County as captain in McGeeney’s first two years as Armagh manager, capturing the Division Three title in 2015.

The 2004 under 21 All-Ireland winning captain played his last game for the county in Armagh’s 2017 quarter final defeat to Tyrone.

McKeever is the latest addition to the backroom setup, with Kieran Donaghy also added to the team before Christmas.

In recent weeks Jim McCorry, John Toal and Paddy McKeever have stepped away and Geezer remains on the lookout for a new assistant manager.
