Date released for Championship draws

The eagerly awaited 2021 hurling and football championship draws are set to be made next Tuesday evening.

17 teams will contest the senior football championship, including Clan na Gael.

The Clans won last year’s Intermediate Championship and return to the Senior grade for the first time since 2012.

Maghery will be out to defend their title having dethroned Crossmaglen in a dramatic final last season.

Several teams will feel they can get their hands on the Gerry Fegan Cup, ensuring an exciting championship!

2020 Junior Champions Forkhill make up the 16 teams vying for Intermediate success, leaving 12 teams in the Junior Championship.

Forkhill will be competing in the Intermediate Championship after a two-year absence. They competed quite well in 2018, losing to Mullaghbawn in the quarter final.

The Junior Championship will once again be one of the hardest to call. At least five teams will be confident of lifting the trophy.

In the hurling, Middletown are on the charge for three in a row and their sixth title in the past seven seasons.

2020 proved one of the most competitive senior hurling championships in years, with five teams competing.

All championships will be the same as last year and decided on a knockout basis.

The 2020 championships provided plenty of drama and entertainment last summer, and Orchard fans will hope 2021 will be a repeat.
