Middletown Vs St Paul’s Preview

St Paul’s aim to get back to the highs of 2020, when they contested the Intermediate Championship Final.

Impressive victories over Tir na nOg, Carrickcruppen and Tullysaran set them through to the showpiece.

They failed to perform on the day and are surely carrying the hurt of that game into this campaign.

The Lurgan men have some of the best players in the Intermediate amongst their ranks, including Andrew Murnin.

The 2009 All-Ireland winning minor is the main man in attack and will play a major part if fit.

A hamstring injured marred his influence on last years decided and St Paul’s need him firing at all cylinders.

Cathal Cavill is the play maker at centre half forward and he is supported by Dean Gaffney in the attacking half of the field.

Shea Gaffney and Paudie Lappin form a strong midfield partnership and will hope to break even in the middle.

Ruairi McCann was part of Madden’s u19 championship winning team and was also a 2020 county minor.

Middletown suffered relegation, winning just two league games and it would be a major shock of St Paul’s don’t come through this one.
