Intermediate Team of the Year – Goalkeepers

Blaine Hughes (Carrickcruppen)

The Armagh number one had an awesome year between the sticks for the 2021 Intermediate Champions.

Hughes played in a sweeper-keeper role for Carrickcruppen, and his performances were one of the highlights of the season.

He kept two clean sheets from his four outings and finished the year with a scoring record of 0-8.

Michael Nugent (Culloville)

The Blues were one of the surprise packages in the 2021 Intermediate Championship as they made their way to the decider.

Their goalkeeper Michael Nugent had an excellent year and his kick outs regularly hit the target throughout the campaign.

Played brilliantly in their first-round win over Shane O’Neill’s and also kept a clean sheet in the semi-final against Sarsfields.

Jude Millar (Sarsfields)

The High Moss netminder conceded just one goal throughout the championship and it came in the semi-final.

Sarsfields failed to get over the line in that last four clash against Culloville, but Millar still enjoyed a good season.

Combined well with his midfielders on his kick outs and kept clean sheets against Clonmore and Whitecross.
