A night with the 02’s

In just a few weeks, the ‘Time2Play’ charity will present ‘A night with the 02’s’, celebrating 20 years since Armagh won their first ever All-Ireland title.

All the proceeds from the event will go towards the James Reel playpark, located inside Silverbridge GAA grounds.

James tragically lost his life last year, but the family are working hard to ensure his memory lives on.

Following on from the successful charity game between Armagh and Tyrone just before Christmas, the Reel family are pulling together another night of entertainment for Armagh fans.

The event will take place on Friday 18th of March in the Carrickdale hotel and tickets are still available.

There is a star-studded line up for the event. MC on the night will be The Sunday Game presenter, Joanne Cantwell.

Three playing members from the Orchard team that captured the Sam Maguire will also be present.

All-Ireland winning captain and current manager Kieran McGeeney is one of the guests that will be in attendance.

Man of the Match from the final and the 2002 championship top scorer, Oisin McConville is also on the guest list.

The man that led the Orchard to the promised land, Joe Kernan will be there. As will goalkeeper on that historic day, Benny Tierney.

Armagh defeated Kerry by one point on that memorable, historic day. The Kingdom are also going to be represented on the night.

Kerry legend and five-time All-Ireland winner Tomas O’Se is part of the panel for the evening.

O’Se isn’t going to be on his own as there’s another ‘outside’ on the guest list. Peter Canavan will give an outside perspective of the ’02 season.

This is sure to be a unforgettable and entertaining evening for all GAA lovers as the 02’s reflect on the greatest day in Armagh’s history.
