Armagh Camogs continue their winning streak

Antrim 1-16 Armagh 1-18

Armagh continued their winning form with a two-point win over Antrim to sit top of their table after four games.

Jim McKernan’s side came from seven points down at the half time interval to mount an outstanding comeback.

Ciara Donnelly was to the fore with Armagh’s star player top scoring with a personal haul of 1-10.

The first quarter was score for score as the sides drew level 0-4 apiece thanks to a Donnelly free after 15 minutes.

With the aid of a strong breeze, the Saffrons took control of the game, outscoring Armagh 0-8 to 0-1.

Antrim’s lead was stretched to seven by the halfway stage with the scoreboard reading 0-12 to 0-5.

A goal early in the second period quickly closed the gap as Donnelly began to find her range.

The Eglish star claimed 1-2 inside the first four minutes of the second half to cut the deficit to just two points.

Antrim tagged on another score, but it was Leanne Donnelly this time that replied as she split the posts.

Two further scores from Ciara Donnelly levelled the game before Jennifer Curry put Armagh ahead for the first time.

Rachael Merry extended Armagh’s advantage with a brace before Antrim replied with two points of their own.

Ciara Donnelly knocked over another two points while Leanne Donnelly added her second.

Antrim traded scores with Ciara Donnelly with the gap now four. The Saffrons nailed their only goal on the 30-minute mark to leave a nervy final few minutes.

But Ciara Donnelly stepped up to point a free to guarantee a two-point victory for the Orchard.
