Division 2A & 2B Match Reports – Week 12

Division 2A – Shane O’Neill’s 0-11 St Peter’s 0-9

Shane O’Neill’s extended their lead at the top of the Division 2A table to four-points with victory over St Peter’s.

The home side headed into the half time break with three-points to spare, leading 0-8 to 0-5.

St Peter’s quickly closed the gap after the interval with two pointed frees before Ruairi O’Brien hit the target for the Shane’s.

St Peter’s had the gap back to one heading into the final stages, but a Paul O’Rourke point secured victory for the home side.

Whitecross 1-7 Annaghmore 4-9

Four goals away from home guaranteed two-points for Annaghmore in this bottom of the table clash.

Mark Shields hit the only goal of the game for the home side, who trailed 2-7 to 0-5 at half time.

Annaghmore’s goals came from Oisin MacIomhair (2), Eoin Walsh and Matthew McNiece.

St Paul’s 2-14 Wolfe Tones 3-11

St Paul’s and Wolfe Tones couldn’t be separated on Friday evening and drew their Division 2A clash.

The home side earned two penalties and Ryan Lawless stepped up to nail both of them.

Paudie Judge also raised two green flags while Jack Wilson hit the third for Wolfe Tones.

Collegeland 0-10 Belleek 2-8

Two goals from Cashel Toner secured victory for Belleek on Friday evening and keeps them in the promotion hunt.

The sides traded scores early on with Tom Murphy matching Conor McKevitt. Toner and Cathair McGeary also swapped scores.

Shane Donnelly edged the hosts ahead before Toner raised two green flags to open up some daylight between the teams.

Jason Kelly knocked over the final score of the opening period with Belleek 2-2 to 0-5 up at half time.

Sean Og Boyle extended the Belleek lead but scores from Nathan Kelly (2) and Murphy kept their side in touch.

Sean McCreesh and Jason Kelly swapped scores while Callum O’Neill split the posts from the dead ball.

Drew McVerry popped up with two scores in the final minutes as Belleek came away with a four-point win.

Elsewhere Keady saw out a two-point victory away to Ballyhegan on Friday night, winning 0-11 to 1-6, with Peter McGrane rattling the net.
