Armagh Camogs through to All-Ireland final

Armagh 1-13 Cavan 2-3

Armagh will appear in their third Junior All-Ireland Camogie final in as many years following their victory over Cavan.

The Orchard County made the best start with two points in a row. Michelle McArdle and Sinead Quinn got Armagh up and running.

Cavan replied to cut the deficit through Shanise Fitzsimmons which was cancelled out by Ciara Donnelly.

Fitzsimmons shot back with the games opening goal before slotting over her second point to put her side two ahead.

Clodagh Keenaghan tagged on the final score of the half to stretch the Breffni lead. 1-3 to 0-3 at half time.

Armagh narrowed the gap with two points after the turnaround. Donnelly grabbed her second while McArdle did likewise.

Cavan stretched ahead once again however with another three-pointer. Fitzsimmons was on target for her second major and put four-points between the sides.

Sinead Quinn closed the difference to three and soon Armagh were back on level terms. Jennifer Curry, Armagh’s top scorer on the day, shot home a goal.

From there, Armagh took control of the encounter to outscore Cavan 0-7 to no score in the final quarter.

A Curry double sandwiched two scores from the Donnelly sisters to put the Ulster Champions four up.

Ciara Hill, McArdle and star player Curry added the last three scores of the game to stretch the lead to seven.

The second half performances sends Armagh to Croke Park where they will now take on Ulster rivals Antrim.
