Some of the games coming up in the first round of the Intermediate Championship are repeats of recent clashes over the last number of years.
The last time Forkhill and Belleek met, it was in the 2020 Junior Championship final, which went to a replay.
Crossmaglen IIs against Tullysaran, Wolfe Tones against Tir na nOg are other repeat pairings from recent seasons. Clonmore met St Paul’s in 2017, with the Lurgan men winning by one.
2020: Forkhill 3-10 Belleek 1-10 (JFC Final Replay)
A late Conor McKevitt goal brough the 2020 Junior Championship final to a replay as the sides drew 2-9 to 1-12.
The replay went to extra time with Jemar Hall firing over a point to tie the match and keep Forkhill’s hopes alive.
Cormac Toner gave a man of the match performance and his two goals ensured victory for his side.
Darren King also hit the net for Forkhill while James McParland raised the green flag for Belleek.

2019: Tullysaran 2-19 Cross II 2-6 (IFC Group Stages)
Tullysaran and Crossmaglen IIs met in the final round of the group stages of the 2019 Intermediate Championship.
Both sides had already made it through to the play offs, having defeated Middletown who finished bottom of the pile.
Tir na nOg ended Tullysaran’s season while Cross met An Port Mor to reach the last eight. Clan na Gael gained the upper hand however and knocked the Rangers out.

2019: Wolfe Tones 1-13 Tir na nOg 1-7 (IFC Quarter Final)
A first half goal from Paudie Judge gave Wolfe Tones the bit of breathing space they needed to reach the last four.
Judge top scored on the night, finishing with 1-3 to his name, and his goal put the Tones six points ahead early on.
Tir na nOg came roaring back into the game and closed the gap to two by the break. Peter Wilson claiming their major.
The Tones kept their noses ahead and earned entry to the semi-finals. Shane O’Neill’s proved too strong however and edged out the Lurgan men by a single point.
