2022 Hurling Team of the Year – Midfielders

Vote for the two midfielders who you think deserves a spot on the 2022 The Sideline Eye Hurling Team of the Year!

MICHAEL DORAN (SEAN TREACY’S)

Michael Doran had a magnificent year for Sean Treacy’s as the Lurgan men won the Junior championship title.

Their towering midfielder was joint captain of the team and was one of the main leaders throughout the campaign.

PADDY MCBRIDE (MIDDLETOWN)

McBride helped Middletown claim their fourth senior championship title in a row for the first time in their history.

He has been one of their best players throughout that time and had another superb year in the middle of the field.

SHEA HARVEY (KEADY)

One of Keady’s best players throughout the entire championship campaign, Harvey excelled at midfield.

He chipped in with a point in the final against Middletown, but the Lamh Dhearg men lost out by four at the end.

JORDAN MURTAGH (CUCHULAINNS)

Murtagh was the top scorer in the Cuchulainns racks and his accuracy from frees helped them reach the last four.

The Cuchulainns midfielder hit a great 1-10 in the semi final draw with Keady, but his couldn’t repeat their performance in the replay.

TIARNAN O’HARE (CRAOBH RUA)

A constant scoring threat from the middle of the field for Craobh Rua, 2022 was no different for O’Hare.

The Camlough sharpshooter slotted over a personal haul of 0-9 as Craobh Rua crashed out of the championship at the hands of Middletown.

REECE MAGEE (SEAN TREACY’S)

Magee formed a terrific centerfield partnership with Michael Doran throughout the junior championship campaign.

The Sean Treacy’s midfielder chipped in with a point against Keady in the final as Sean Tracey’s captured the title.

FIONNTAN DONNELLY (KEADY)

A huge scoring threat from almost anywhere, Donnelly rarely misses in front of the posts. His accuracy from frees was key for his Keady side as they reached the decider.

He was outstanding in their last four win over Cuchulainns and gave a number of great displays throughout the year.
