Kildare 0-6 Armagh 2-13
Two second half goals saw the Armagh camogie side overcome Kildare, away from home, by 13-points on Saturday.
The Orchard County led by five at the break, but Rachael Merry and Sinead Quinn guaranteed victory with the three-pointers in the second half.
Armagh led from start to finish and opened the scoring through Katie Comiskey with the first attack of the game.
Leanne Donnelly stretched the visiting sides advantage moments later before Kildare levelled with a brace.
Rachael Merry nudged Armagh back in front before they doubled their lead through Sinead Quinn.
Kildare grabbed a third, although it was cancelled out this time by Jennifer Curry’s first score of the day.
Three on the trot from Donnelly, Ellie McKee and Eimear Smyth extended Armagh’s lead. The away team headed into the break with five-points to the good, 0-8 to 0-3.
Donnelly and Merry pushed Armagh further ahead before Kildare pulled one back three minutes later.
Merry rattled the net for the game’s first goal and traded points with the home side to extend Armagh’s run to ten.
Sinead Quinn then rattled the net to further show Armagh’s dominance. Ciarrai Devlin also pulled off some super saves at the other end.
Merry swapped scores with Kildare before Curry finished off the scoring for the day, to put Armagh 13-points clear at the final whistle.
The win places Armagh at the top of the table, having won both their opening games, heading into the final round.
They take on Tyrone next weekend, once again a way from home, and will be eager to continue their winning form.
