Roscommon 0-18 Armagh 2-24
Armagh gained revenge over Roscommon in the opening round of the Nickey Rackard Cup, following two previous defeats to the same opposition.
But Armagh made it third time lucky last weekend, away from home, with a huge 12-point victory.
Goals from Connor Renaghan and Eoin McGuinness, either side of the break, turned the tide for Karl McKeegan’s men.

The teams were evenly matched early on with the game level 0-6 apiece after 20 minutes. Tomas Galvin, Fionntan Donnelly (4) and Tam McKavanagh grabbing Armagh’s scores.
Further scores from Donnelly and McKavanagh put Armagh in front by two before the hosts got back on level terms.
Cormac Jennings edged Armagh in front before Renaghan’s goal and a brace from Galvin opened up a six-point gap.
Roscommon responded with four points on the bounce, with the away team ahead at the interval 1-11 to 0-12.

Second half
Eoin McGuinness traded scores with Paddy Fallon before the Armagh full forward rattled the net to extend their lead.
Barry Shortt, Donnelly (2) and Galvin tagged on further scores as the visitors stormed nine-points ahead.
Renaghan raised a white flag while Shea Harvey got in on the scoring act after coming in off the bench.
Donnelly fired over his three more scores while Danny Magee and Harvey topped a superb performance from Armagh.
It’s Donegal up next for the Orchard County, at home next Saturday, and they’ll hope to continue their winning run.
