Division 2A & 2B Match Reports – Week Four

Division 2A – Tullysaran 0-12 Pearse Og 0-8

In the first ever meeting between these sides at senior level, Tullysaran earned a four-point win over Pearse Og in their Division 2A clash.

After a scrappy start, Tullysaran led through points from Mark McKeever and Ciaran O’Riordan before the Ogs got off the mark.

McKeever added a second while Eddie Mallon also pointed to see the home side carry a 4-3 advantage into the second half.

The Ogs levelled the game straight from the throw in, but Tullysaran soon got their noses ahead once again.

Mark McKenna hit two while two great saves from Kevin Hayes prevented the Ogs from rattling the net.

Tullysaran recorded the next four scores via Ryan Conlon, Gavin Conlon and two excellent long-range scores from McKeever.

The sides traded scores late in the game, with McKeever and Gavin Conlon splitting the posts for the victors.

Elsewhere in the division, St Paul’s earned their third win on the trot, edging past Culloville by one-point, 0-10 to 0-9.

Carrickcruppen proved too strong for Wolfe Tones and secured a three-point win in the end, 0-13 to 1-7.

Cullyhanna continued their winning streak, defeating Tir na nOg away from home by four-points, 0-12 to 0-8.

Division 2B – Whitecross 3-15 Forkhill 0-12

Aidan Finnegan, Neil McSherry and Cormac Mulligan all netted for Whitecross as they continued their perfect start to the season.

Whitecross picked up their third victory of the campaign, seeing off Forkhill with a dominant second half display.

Finnegan’s first half major had the hosts ahead at the break, 1-6 to 0-6, with Cormac Toner hitting 0-5 of Forkhill’s tally.

McSherry and Mulligan added three-pointers after the turnaround as Whitecross ran out 12-point winners.

Elsewhere in Division 2B, Annaghmore were five-point victors over Middletown, winning 1-17 to 2-9.

Tomas McCormack rattled the net for the home side after playing a one-two with Conor Cullen.
