Division 2A – Carrickcruppen 1-12 St Paul’s 2-9
Carrickcruppen and St Paul’s couldn’t be separated in their Division 2A clash, and both came away with a point apiece.
The hosts got off to the perfect start with a Tiernan Kelly goal after 40 seconds while Ben Matthews fired over a point.
Aaron Rogers got St Paul’s up and running but two Paul McNally points extended Cruppen’s advantage.
A goal just before the break from full forward Rogers narrowed the gap, with Cruppen ahead 1-6 to 1-4.
Carrickcruppen extended that lead to five by the halfway stage of the second period, but a Sean Toman goal brough St Paul’s back into contention.
Two points on the trot from Eoin McConville and Darren Fox saw the Lurgan men level the game for the first time.
McConville fired St Paul’s in front, but Cruppen had a final saw, with Kelly driving over an equalising score.
Elsewhere in Division 2A, league leaders St Patrick’s edged past Wolfe Tones with one-point to spare, 0-15 to 0-14.
A second half Eoghan Heaney goal helped Pearse Og nudge past Tir na nOg, away from home, by two-points.
The sides were all square at the break, 0-4 to 1-1, with Jamie McAleenan claiming all of Tir na nOg scores.
But Heaney’s three-pointer was enough to ensure Garreth Thornton’s side continued their fine winning form.
Division 2B – Derrynoose 0-12 Whitecross 1-5
Derrynoose climbed to fourth in the table with their third victory of the season as they saw off Whitecross on Friday.
The visiting side started much the brighter and raced into an early lead, hitting three-points in the first three minutes.
But Derrynoose hit their own purple patch and Aaron Fox fired over a score on the 23rd minute to tie the game.
The sides continued to trade scores and the game was tied heading into the half time break, 0-5 apiece.
A converted penalty for the visiting side fired them two-points ahead, but Conall McNally and David McCreesh tied the game for Derrynoose.
The hosts finished with a flurry and recorded the final four score of the game to see out an impressive win.
