Who was Armagh’s Man of the Match in their heart-breaking penalty shootout defeat to Monaghan on Saturday afternoon?
23 players saw game time for Kieran McGeeney’s side as they lost out to the Farney after extra time and penalties.
Ethan Rafferty
Pulled off a fine save to deny Ryan Wylie a goal. Also stopped Gary Mohan’s effort in the penalty shootout.
Paddy Burns
Picked up Jack McCarron and held the Monaghan sharpshooter to one-point from play.
Aaron McKay
McKay had another good outing at full back, continuing his fine form all season long.
Aidan Forker
Another inspirational performance from one of Armagh’s main men. Eventually had to be carried off the field due to cramp.

Conor O’Neill
Picked up McManus when he entered the fray and had his hands full with the Monaghan legend.
Greg McCabe
Was often the extra man in the Armagh defence before being replaced by Callum Cumiskey.
Jarly Og Burns
A late replacement for Callum Cumiskey, Burns drove at the Monaghan defence whenever he got the chance.
Ciaran Mackin
Had a good game around the middle of the park but picked up a rib injury that ended his day.
Ben Crealey
Crealey gave a solid performance before being replaced by Conor Turbitt in the second half.
Jason Duffy
Worked extremely hard as he has done all season long in Armagh’s half forward line.

Rory Grugan
Chipped in with 0-2 and converted both his penalties expertly during the shootout.
Stefan Campbell
Created a goal scoring opportunity for Turbitt in the second half and had one himself in the first.
Joe McElroy
Started ahead of Turbitt to pick up Monaghan’s roaming wing half back Karl O’Connell.
Rian O’Neill
Landed a monster effort that looked to seal Armagh’s passage to the last four, but it wasn’t to be. Top scored with 0-6.
Andrew Murnin
Murnin gave his customary standout display once again, scoring 0-2 and being a huge option for kickouts.
Conor Turbitt
Came into the fray for Joe McElroy and could have had a goal but for a fine save from Rory Beggan.

Callum Cumiskey
Cumiskey was the unfortunate one to miss from the spot during the shootout. Although it’s worth remembering he scored Armagh’s only penalty in the Ulster final.
Jemar Hall
Entered the encounter for Jason Duffy before coming back off again due to injury.
Ross McQuillan
McQuillan replaced the injured Hall and popped over the first point of extra time.
Shane McPartlan
Battled extremely hard when introduced and buried both his penalties in the shootout.
Barry McCambridge
Came on for Forker and was unfortunate to give away a free which Monaghan tapped over.
Justin Kieran
Looked busy after coming into the game, replacing Paddy Burns late on in extra time.
Oisin Conaty
Stepped up to superbly slam home both his penalties past Rory Beggan during the shootout.
