Division 2A & 2B Previews – Gameday 16

Division 2A – All games on Friday at 7.30pm

There are only two Division 2A games on this weekend and both fixtures take place on Friday evening at 7.30pm.

St Paul’s are out of the promotion chase, but they’ll want to confirm their spot in the top four, as will Pearse Og.

The pair currently sit in third and fourth place, and a top four finish will see them earn top seeding come the championship.

Both sides haven’t featured in two weeks, but St Paul’s will be able to call on Andrew Murnin, who’s now back from inter-county duty.

Carrickcruppen are just one point behind the Ogs, and they will be targeting a spot in the top end of the table.

They face Tir na nOg this weekend with home advantage, while the sides also meet on the final day of the campaign.

The Portadown men are fighting against relegation and victory here will see them climb above Tullysaran ahead of the final round.

Division 2B

Keady have already claimed the Division 2B league title, but there is still the second promotion spot up for grabs.

Annaghmore, Belleek and Derrynoose are the chasing pack, and Belleek take on Derrynoose on Friday (7.30pm).

If Paul Hagan’s side earn the two-points, they leapfrog their opponents and climb to third place in the table.

Should Belleek come out on top, they’ll jump above Annaghmore into second, at least for a few days.

Annaghmore aren’t out until Sunday, when they take on Forkhill who have a huge weekend ahead of them.

Their class with Whitecross on Friday (7.30pm) could ultimate determine who joins Middletown in relegation.

Forkhill, who will be without the suspended Stephen Sheridan, will trail Whitecross by just one-point if they win on Friday.

Whitecross however would solidify their place in the division if they come out on top, although they are away from home.

Sheridan will be back for Forkhill on Sunday and his presence around the middle could help against Annaghmore.

Annaghmore are still chasing promotion so they’ll be determined to get the victory on Sunday (1.00pm).
