St Peter’s 0-3 Clann Eireann 0-18
Ten points from star man Conor Turbitt saw Clann Eireann claim a handsome 15-point win over St Peter’s on Sunday.
The Division 1A league winners were full value for their victory and were much the better team on display.
Ruairi Lavery’s side carried their fine league form into the championship and were the better team on display.
Armagh sharpshooter Conor Turbitt was the main man on show and St Peter’s simply couldn’t deal with ‘Turbo’.
The home side opened the scoring inside the first three minutes, with Niall McConville pointing a handy free.
But Clann Eireann, and Turbitt, took control and the dangerous full forward rattled off six points in a row.
The first he fisted over, while three of his six scores came from frees as Clann Eireann lead 6-1 after 23 minutes.
Sean McCarthy became Clann Eireann’s second scorer of the day, but his point was cancelled out by Niall Creaney.
Tiarnan Kelly powered over a massive score to bring the half to a close, with the visiting side ahead by six points, 0-8 to 0-2.
Clann Eireann kept their foot on the gas after the half time interval as captain Conor McConville pointed inside the first sixty seconds.
Turbitt added a brace to his ever growing tally, either side of a well taken Daniel Magee mark.
Ryan Henderson chipped in with his first of the evening, while Niall McConville raised a white flag at the other end.
Turbo added his ninth and tenth points, either side of a score from Kelly to drive the away time further in front.
Clann Eireann finished with the final two scores, coming through Adam Kelly and Ruairi McDonald. That extended the Clann Eireann lead to 15-points when the final whistle sounded.
