Aidan Morgan (Dromintee)
Ended up on the losing side but gave a solid showing. He nailed two frees and pulled off two brilliant point-blank saves.
Tom Turbitt (Clann Eireann II)
Clann Eireann IIs overcame Eire Og in the opening round of the JFC and gave a great showing in defence.
Donal Rafferty (Madden)
Rafferty was a real attacking force from deep for Madden and covered every blade of grass in Silverbridge.
Conor Magennis (Killeavy)
Killeavy kept a clean sheet in their six-point win over Dromintee and Magennis gave an excellent defensive display.
Callum O’Neill (Clan na Gael)
Our one to watch from Clan na Gael. O’Neill was in brilliant form, hitting 0-2 and setting up the final goal.
Oisin McGivern (Ballymacnab)
His early goal put the Nab in the driving seat and McGivern gave a superb defensive display as well.
Ryan McShane (Armagh Harps)
A new position for McShane, who is flourishing at wing half back. ‘Mini’ charged forward to hit 0-3 against Shane O’Neill’s.
Vincy Brady (Pearse Og)
Brady’s three-pointer was the crucial score for Pearse Og on Friday. They overcame Annaghmore 1-11 to 0-11.
Oisin O’Neill (Crossmaglen)
A really good performance from O’Neill in his first club championship outing since the 2021 SFC final.
Oisin Conaty (Tir na nOg)
Conaty was the difference for Tir na nOg as they overcame Whitecross. He finished with 2-4, 2-3 coming from play.
Shane McPartlan (Clan na Gael)
Top scored for the Clans as they drew with Crossmaglen. It was his last second goal that secured a share of the spoils.
Eamon McGeown (Sarsfields)
The McGeown brothers turned the tide for Sarsfields when they trailed by six. Paul done the scoring, but it was Eamon doing the hard work out around the middle of the field.
Aidan Nugent (St Patrick’s)
Cullyhanna proved too strong for Belleek and earned a 13-point win. Nugent was the main target up top and finished with 0-5.
Conor Turbitt (Clann Eireann)
An easy inclusion in the Team of the Week. ‘Turbo’ top scored for Clann Eireann in their win over St Peter’s with 0-10, including his sides first six points.
Steven Matthews (Lissummon)
Recorded 0-8 for Lissummon as they battled back to beat O’Hanlon’s. Matthews was the top scorer in the opening weekend of the JFC.
