u21 Championship Reports – Week Four

U21 Senior Championship

Madden secured their first victory of the u21 Senior Championship with a four-point win over Silverbridge.

Four points in the final couple of minutes sealed the deal for the Raparees. A first half goal from Oisin O’Hara was also an important score.

O’Hara’s first half three-pointer tied things up as the ‘Bridge burst into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead early on in the game.

O’Hara and Eoin Grimley traded scores with their hosts to lead by the minimum of margins at half time, 1-4 to 0-6.

The sides exchanged efforts with two points apiece before Silverbridge tied thing up on the 52nd minute.

Scores from Dara Hughes, O’Hara, Darragh McMullen and Cathal Maguire saw Madden take the two points.

Armagh Harps and Clann Eireann couldn’t be separated on Sunday as they finished all square, 1-9 each.

Both sides rattled the net during the first half. James Walsh was the goal scorer for the Harps while Finn Creery hit the net for Clann Eireann.

U21 Intermediate Championship

Pearse Og picked up their first win of the u21 Intermediate Championship against Tullysaran at the weekend.

The Ogs bounced back from their tough defeat to league leaders Carrickcruppen last week to pick up two-points.

Dara Harney and Rhys Stevens raised the green flags for the Ogs as they saw out a 2-13 to 2-8 victory.

Craobh Ciaran saw off Wolfe Tones in Group B. They earned a 2-10 to 3-5 win with Charlie McArdle and John Joe Hughes getting the goals.

Shane O’Neill’s saw off table toppers Mullaghbawn with three-points separating the sides, 1-16 to 1-13.

In Group C, Dromintee fought off Ballyhegan with five to spare at the full-time whistle, 1-14 to 1-9.

Goals from Fionntan Laverty and Ronan Watkins helped league leaders Naomh Colum overcome Keady 2-20 to 1-7.
