2023 Junior Team of the Year – Forwards

It’s time to vote for the players that you think deserve a place in the 2023 The Sideline Eye Junior Team of the Year.

10 players have been nominated for the defensive positions. Vote for the six forwards you think deserves a place on the team.

The voting polls will close at midnight on Sunday and the team will be announced next Monday.

Ethan McKenna (Clann Eireann II)

McKenna picked up the Man of the Match award for his display in the final as Clann Eireann IIs won the Junior Championship.

Aidan Davidson (St Michael’s)

Davidson offered an attacking threat for St Michael’s in the championship when he moved to full forward.

Steven Matthews (Lissummon)

Perhaps didn’t have his best day against Ballyhegan but Matthews was on fire throughout the rest of the campaign.

James French (Clann Eireann II)

French was a consistent scorer for Clann Eireann IIs throughout the season and finished the year with 0-19.

Ryan Courtney (Thomas Davis)

Was a huge driving force behind the Thomas Davis comeback in the semi-final and played well against St Michael’s too.

Cahal Cunningham (Clonmore)

Cunningham finished the season as top scorer for Clonmore having racked up 0-19 throughout their campaign.

Rogan McVeigh (Clann Eireann II)

May not have got on the scoresheet as much as the others, but McVeigh was a main man for Clann Eireann IIs.

James McCormack (Ballyhegan)

McCormack had a superb year for Ballyhegan and led them to the decider. He finished the year as top scorer in the Junior Championship with 6-30.

Sean Quigley (Clonmore)

Quigley was a real goal-scoring threat for Clonmore this season and rattled off 4-5 throughout the championship.

Michael McCaughey (Clann Eireann II)

Saved his best performance for the final. McCaughey was responsible for two goals that night and finished the year with 3-7.
