Same again for Armagh

Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney has named an unchanged starting team to face Fermanagh on Saturday evening in Brewster Park.

Kieran McGeeney has gone with the same starting 15 that earned a 1-9 to 0-12 draw with Donegal last weekend.

Armagh travel to Enniskillen to face Fermanagh for the first time since 2020. Both sides were competing in Division Two at that time as well.

From the team that start four years ago, when Armagh won 3-14 to 0-10, five players retain their starting jerseys this weekend.

Blaine Hughes stood between the sticks that night while Paddy Burns and Aidan Forker were in the full back line.

Rory Grugan played at wing half forward while Stefan Campbell wore the number 11 jersey in the half forward line.

Campbell has been named to start at midfield this week, although Connaire Mackin replaced him before throw in last weekend.

Jarly Og Burns also started against Fermanagh four years ago, as did Aidan Nugent. Jason Duffy, Ethan Rafferty, James Morgan, Greg McCabe and Aaron McKay came off the bench.

Starting team

Blaine Hughes will line out in nets for the fifth game in a row and will be keen to keep a fifth clean sheet.

Paddy Burns and Peter McGrane will start in the corners while Aaron McKay will guard the edge of the square.

McCabe and Forker are along the half back line beside Ciaran Mackin. Although Mackin has played midfield in the last two games.

Ben Crealey and Stefan Campbell are once again named at midfield. Neither of the two started against Donegal, however.

Andrew Murnin has been named at wing forward, but like last week, he’ll likely go to the full forward position.

Murnin’s goal against Donegal was crucial to Armagh earning a draw and holding onto their unbeaten record.

Grugan and Joe McElroy make up the half forward line with Cian McConville, Conor Turbitt and Oisin Conaty inside.
