Division 2A & 2B Previews – Gameday 2

Division 2A

Grange and Pearse Og were due to get the Division 2A action underway on Thursday, however the game has been postponed due an unplayable pitch.

That means the three remaining Division 2A games will all take place on Friday. Annaghmore will hope to bounce back as they host St Paul’s. Connor Cullen and Oisin McIomhair remain the two big scoring threats up front for Dessie McCormack’s side.

St Paul’s have yet to open their account for 2024 and Friday’s encounter will be their first game of the season. Their first-round clash with Tullysaran was postponed on Monday night due to the weather.

Carrickcruppen picked up their first point of 2024 last week when their opening tie with Keady finished all square. They’ll be keen to chalk up a victory on home soil in round two however when they host Shane O’Neill’s on Friday.

The likes of Paul O’Rourke and Aodhan Conlon remain the key attacking threats up front for Johnny Murtagh’s men. Youngster Keegan Grant also impressed last weekend and will be one to watch this year.

Keady travel to Tullysaran, who will get their campaign up and running having missed out on Monday evening.

Belleek and Whitecross renew their rivalry on Friday night as they lock horns in search of two points after opening day wins. Belleek saw off Clonmore in the first round while Whitecross eased past Crossmaglen IIs with 12-points to spare.

Last year’s Junior Championship winners will get their 2024 campaign underway on Friday. Their game against Derrynoose was postponed last week.

Derrynoose are coming up against Crossmaglen IIs this weekend and will be eager to get their league campaign off to a winning start.
