Division 1A & 1B Match Reports – Week Two

Division 1A – Granemore 0-9 Armagh Harps 1-7

A first half goal was the key score for Armagh Harps as they travelled to Granemore and collected two points.

The two teams traded scores early on before Tom O’Kane and James McCoy put the visitors two ahead.

Granemore got back on level terms with a brace before a tremendous Oisin Hughes goal sent the Harps 1-4 to 0-4 ahead at half time.

Ryan McKeown finished a great team move on the restart before Granemore reduced the deficit with two in a row.

McCoy increased the Harps lead with two in a row. But the hosts finished with a flurry with Eoghan O’Neill and Reece Butter at the forefront for Granemore.

The narrowed the gap to one, but they couldn’t find the equalising score, and the Harps held on to win by one.

Elsewhere, Sean Conlon claimed a second half goal as Silverbridge overcame Crossmaglen by five-points.

The ‘Bridge led by the minimum of margins at the break, 7-6, but pushed on after the turnaround to win 1-11 to 0-9.

Niall Courtney hit 1-1 for Dromintee as they saw off Killeavy on home turf with four-points to spare.

The sides were tied 0-4 apiece at the interval, but Courtney netted in the second half to guide Dromintee to victory.

Madden’s encounter with league champions Clann Eireann was postponed due to the weather conditions.

Division 1B – Ballymacnab 1-9 Cullyhanna 1-12

Cullyhanna earned a second win on the trot when they battled past Ballymacnab by three-points in the end.

A superb first half Shea Hoey goal was the crucial score for the Intermediate All-Ireland champions.

The visitors raced into a three-point lead early on before a Pearse Hughes goal from a penalty levelled things up.

Hoey then rattled the net to hand Cullyhanna the lead once again and they headed into the break 1-5 to 1-7 ahead.

The sides traded scores at the start of the second half and Cullyhanna kept their noses ahead to win by three.

Elsewhere in the division, Mullaghbawn earned their second victory of the campaign, beating Culloville 1-10 to 0-9.

The games between Sarsfields and Clan na Gael as well as Maghery versus St Peter’s were both postponed.
