Division 3A & 3B Match Reports – Week Three

Division 3A Round Up

Ballyhegan were handsome winners in their Division 3A meeting with Forkhill on Friday evening, winning by 11-points in the end.

The sides were all square at the half time break, 1-8 to 2-5, but Ballyhegan took control after the turnaround to win 5-12 to 1-13.

Jamie McKenna and Mark Hughes hit two goals apiece for the victors while Conor Williamson also grabbed a major.

Gavin Kelly grabbed the all-important goal for An Port Mor as they overcame Eire Og by the slightest of margins.

Kelly’s three-pointer, after some great play from the visiting side, saw them earn a 1-12 to 1-11 victory.

Collegeland and Lissummon couldn’t be separated on Friday night as they played out a 2-10 to 1-13 tie.

Rory Grimes netted for Middletown as they continued their winning streak with a 1-9 to 0-5 victory over St Michael’s.

Division 3B – Killean 0-4 Madden IIs 3-13

Three second half goals from Collie Mallon, Ryan Mone and Dara Connolly helped Madden IIs see off Killean.

The sides were fairly matched during the opening exchanges, but Madden pushed ahead in the second half.

Caolan Quinn traded scores with the opposition while a Ronan Greene free split two Johnny Fahy points.

Chrissy Forde, Conor Mone and Connolly saw their efforts matched before Forde put Madden ahead 8-4 at the break.

Two Fahy points arrived before Collie Mallon slotted home the games first goal while Fahy raised another white flag.

Mone and Connolly finished the scoring for the day with 1-1 apiece to leave Madden IIs 18-point victors.

Division 3B Round Up

A late Myles Boyd penalty saw Killeavy IIs come from behind to defeat Clady by the minimum of margins.

Liam Doyle and Sean Toner had both netted late on to put Clady in front, but it was Killeavy who finished the ahead.

Doyle top scored for Clady, finishing with 1-5 to his name while Jack Collins also netted for Killeavy. The game finished 3-10 to 2-12.

Liam and Ben Rice raised green flags for Mullabrack as they beat Dorsey by two-points, 2-5 to 0-9.

David Murphy was the Thomas Davis goal scorer as the table toppers beat St Peter’s IIs 1-13 to 0-9.
