Division 1A & 1B Match Reports – Week Four

Division 1A – Armagh Harps 2-10 Killeavy 1-11

Two second half goals from Oisin Hughes and James McCoy saw Armagh Harps overcome Killeavy in their Division 1A clash.

Callum O’Hare had netted in the opening half for Killeavy to give them a 1-6 to 0-7 lead at the halfway stage.

Killeavy got off a to flying start, kicking the first five points of the night from five different scorers. Niall Magennis, O’Hare, Gareth Murphy, Oisin King and Adam Garvey all raised white flags.

James McCoy opened the Harps account after 14 minutes, but Killeavy followed that up with the game’s first goal through O’Hare.

The Harps, really began to take control with five of the next six points to leave the gap at two at half time.

The Harps shot ahead immediately with a goal from Hughes while O’Hare and Miceal McNamee traded scores with Ryan McKeown and McCoy.

McCoy also rattled the back of the net to claim a second goal for the hosts. James Walsh and O’Hare cancelled each other out while King kicked over the final two scores of the night, with the Harps ahead by two in the end.

Elsewhere, Crossmaglen also enjoyed a two-point victory as they saw off Dromintee, 0-14 to 0-12. The sides were tied 0-7 apiece at half time.

A second half goal from Eoin Grimley earned Madden a share of the spoils against Silverbridge, with the sides drawing 1-9 to 0-12.

Silverbridge remain at the top of the table with seven points. Madden are in action again on Sunday as they take on Division 1A champions Clann Eireann.

Division 1B – Sarsfields 1-9 Cullyhanna 1-8

Sarsfields picked up their first win of the season when they overcame Cullyhanna by the minimum of margins.

A last minute Cullyhanna goal narrowed the gap but had their noses ahead right throughout the contest.

Gary Mackin traded scores with Patrick McCavigan before Thomas McAlinden put the home side ahead.

Eamon McGeown and Niall Kerr grew Sarsfields lead while Gavan Duffy and Darragh O’Hanlon exchanged efforts.

Eoghan McMahon and Mackin cancelled each other out while Sean Og Irwin kicked a point for Cullyhanna.

McGeown palmed home a goal after being set up by Kerr to give the High Moss men a 1-6 to 0-4 half time advantage.

Stephen McArdle (45) and McAlinden grew the lead at the start of the second half before Duffy replied.

Tony Donnelly and McAlinden cancelled each other out while Caolan Reavey and Mackin added points.

Donnelly’s long ball in ended up in the back of the net, but it was too little too late for the St Patrick’s men.

Mullaghbawn remain at the top of the Division 1B table following Friday evening’s 1-5 to 0-8 draw with Maghery.

Goals from Michael McConville and a Lennox Camara penalty saw Clan na Gael defeat Culloville 2-7 to 1-9.

There are two upcoming fixtures in Division 1B on Tuesday night. Maghery host St Peter’s while Clan na Gael travel to Sarsfields.
