Kelly major sees Clann Eireann beat Madden

Madden 0-8 Clann Eireann 1-8

A late Adam Kelly goal helped Clann Eireann continue their winning start to 2024 as they saw off Madden by three.

Last year’s league champions have won all three of their first three games and sit second in the table.

Madden, with Niall Grimley lined out at centre half forward, started the scoring with a pointed free from Aron McKenna.

Jack Conlon levelled things up for the visitors before Daniel Magee tapped over a score to give them the lead.

Paddy Carr swept over a super score to tie the game again before Ethan McKenna nudged Clann Eireann ahead again.

Shea Vallely curled over another for Madden while Aodhan McConville (free) swapped scores with Oisin O’Hara.

That left the game tied at the half time break with both sides having kicked 0-4 in the opening half.

Conor McConville, set up by his midfield partner Declan Mallon, got the game up and running for the second period.

Jack Conlon and Carr, after a quick one-two with Niall Smith, raised white flags at either end of the field.
