Two second half three-pointers helped Pearse Og cruise to an impressive 16-point victory over Grange on Monday night.

The Ogs are now third in the Division 2A league table, just behind table toppers Carrickcruppen and St Paul’s.

Garreth Thornton’s side are now tied on four points apiece with Annaghmore and Keady, with two wins from four outings.

The Ogs got off to a flying start with the opening four points. Ruairi Duffy hit two (one free) while Jack Duffy and Ruairi McCay also scored.

Daire Mallon got Grange off the mark with his first, but it was cancelled out by Duffy at the other end.

A one-two with Callum Murray saw Anto Duffy split the posts while Duffy added another for the Ogs.

Brendan Rafferty swapped scores with Anto Duffy while Ruairi Duffy and Murray extended the visitors lead.

McCay and Anto Duffy saw their scores matched by Brendan and Odhran Rafferty just before the break. That left the Ogs ahead 0-11 to 0-5 at the interval.

Second half

Odhran Rafferty and Ruairi Duffy converted frees at the start of the second period while Odhran Houlahan also scored.

Murray continued his accuracy in front of the posts and his effort was cancelled out by substitute Ben Toal.

Rafferty and Duffy continued to raise white flags while Toal added a second to his tally with a pointed mark.

The Ogs then claimed the games first goal with corner back Jack Duffy slotting home from close range.

Murray fisted over his third of the evening as the visiting side finished with a flurry, which included a second goal.

The defeat leaves Grange anchored at the bottom of the Division 2A table with one win in four games.

They travel to Carrickcruppen on Friday night while the Ogs are on the road again as they take on Keady.
