Division 2A & 2B Match Reports – Week Five

Division 2A -Tullysaran 0-14 Annaghmore 0-11

Tullysaran secured their second victory of the Division 2A league campaign, as they beat Annaghmore by three points.

The hosts held the upper hand from start to finish, with Mark McKeever and Eddie Mallon getting the up and running.

Annaghmore swapped scores with McKeever before hitting a brace to tie things up 0-3 apiece after ten minutes.

McKeever, James Conlon and James Madden extended Tullysaran’s led before Annaghmore pulled one back.

The half finished with two more home points through Ryan Conlon and McKeever to leave Tullysaran 9-4 ahead.

James Conlon and McKeever (45) opened the scoring before Annaghmore hit back with a brace of their own.

McKeever (2) and Adrian Conlon scored but the final five points of the night came the way of Annaghmore. It wasn’t enough for them to get something from the game, however.

Division 2A Round Up

Carrickcruppen continued their unbeaten run at the top of Division 2A as they overcame Grange.

That sees Barry Flynn’s men sit at the top of the pile on eight points, two clear of St Paul’s and Keady.

St Paul’s suffered a 0-17 to 1-12 defeat to Shane O’Neill’s with the Shane’s securing their second win of the campaign.

Three second half goals from Dean Nugent, Noel King and James O’Hara helped Keady beat Pearse Og 3-14 to 0-14.

Division 2B – Clonmore 1-11 Derrynoose 2-12

Derrynoose survived a late rally from hosts Clonmore to emerge with a deserved victory on Thursday night.

The sides were evenly matched early in the game and were tied 0-3 apiece after 15 minutes, before Derrynoose took control.

Five points on the trot saw Paul Hagan’s men pull clear before Clonmore replied with a point of their own.

Sean Lennon raised the games first green flag just before the break, to see Derrynoose 1-8 to 0-4 clear at half time.

Clonmore nailed the first two scores after the turnaround, but Derrynoose replied with a Shea McNaughton major.

Conall McNally and McNaughton exchanged scores with the home side while Clonmore added two more from frees.

Oisin McNally slotted over a point while Clonmore struck home a late penalty through wing forward Sean Quigley.

Clonmore claimed the final score of the game, but Derrynoose did enough to claim a three-point victory.

Division 2B Round Up

Elsewhere, Belleek continued their winning start to the season with a two-point victory over Tir na nOg.

James McParland and Drew McVerry both rattled the net for the home side in their 2-11 to 1-12 triumph.

Wolfe Tones overcame Whitecross, 3-9 to 0-12. James Lavery, Connell O’Hagan and Pauddy Judge all rattled the net.

Clann Eireann IIs had a 6-13 to 2-11 win over Cross IIs. Michael McCaughley (3), Rogan McVeigh (2) and Cohen Henderson raised the green flags.
