Division 3A & 3B Previews – Gameday 7

Division 3A

Ballyhegan remain the only unbeaten team in Division 3A and they’re currently leading the way at the top of the table. Middletown are in second place, and they travel to Ballyhegan on Friday evening.

Middletown have stumbled slightly since their fast start to the season, losing their last two encounters. Eire Og were two-points better off two weeks ago while Forkhill proved too strong last weekend.

Forkhill have won their last two outings, and they will have home advantage against Collegeland this week. Paul Doyle’s are currently bottom of the league having lost three of their five outings.

Collegeland lost twice last weekend, with Eire Og winning a crazy game, 6-8 to 3-15 while An Port Mor’s late rally saw them kick the final six points of the game to win by the minimum of margins.

The Blackwatertown men have a team made up of youth and plenty of experience and have been in great form. They’ve won four of their six league fixtures and currently sit two points behind table toppers Ballyhegan.

They take on Lissummon this weekend who have won just once this season and have lost two on the bounce. They’ll be keen to get back to winning ways when they make the trip to An Port Mor on Friday.

Eire Og have turned their season around, beating Middletown and Collegeland recently. They’ll be keen to make it three wins on the trot when they make the journey to Newtown on Friday night.

St Michael’s lost out to An Port Mor in their most recent outing, 3-16 to 1-19, but did beat Collegeland on home turf the week before that. These two sides currently hold the two relegation spots at the bottom of the pile.

Division 3B

It’s going to be a busy weekend for St Peter’s IIs and Redmond O’Hanlon’s, who play twice in four days. They lock horns with each other on Monday night but have games to take care of on Friday as well.

St Peter’s have been in unbelievable form of late, hitting 16 goals in their last three outings, and they face Killean on Friday. Killean are at the bottom of the table on zero points, and this will be a tough test.

Madden IIs conceded ten goals against the Lurgan side last week, so could be a wounded animal on Friday. They face a youthful Redmond O’Hanlon’s team that have kicked eight goals themselves in three weeks.

Mullabrack host Thomas Davis on Friday evening in a Division 3A top of the table clash. Thomas Davis had yet to taste defeat while Mullabrack have stumbled slightly recently, losing their last two games.

Elsewhere, Dorsey host Killeavy IIs this week and both teams head into the encounter off the back of recent wins. The sides clashed in the championship last season, with Killeavy IIs winning handsomely in the end.
