Division 2A & 2B Match Reports – Week Seven

Division 2A – Tullysaran 0-11 Pearse Og 2-10

Two second half goals from Cian O’Hara and Anto Duffy saw the Ogs beat Tullysaran in Thursday’s Division 2A clash.

The two teams played out an even enough affair, but in the end the two goals made all the difference.

Two Mark McKeever frees were matched by Michael McSorley and Duffy during the game’s opening exchanges.

A McSorley brace put the Ogs ahead while Callum Murray and Eddie Mallon traded pointed efforts. That left the Ogs ahead at half time, 0-5 to 0-3.

McKeever closed the gap at the start of the second half with his third free before the Ogs hit the net through O’Hara.

Tullysaran had a chance to respond instantly with a Gavin Conlon penalty, which he earned himself, but he blasted it over the bar.

Conlon and Ruairi Duffy cancelled each other out, as did James Madden and Tiernan Quinn before McKeever slotted over his fourth.

A superb ball in by Rhys Stevens was captured but Anto Duffy at full forward and coolly slotted to the net.

The sides were matched score for score during the final few minutes, with the Ogs seeing out a five-point win.
