Division 2A & 2B Match Reports – Week Eight

Division 2A Round Up

Carrickcruppen earned a five-point win over Keady to retain their position at the top of the Division 2A league table, although they are still tied on 11 points with St Paul’s.

Tiernan Kelly nailed the Carrickcruppen goal, from a penalty, in the first half and they ran out 1-11 to 0-9 winners.

Likewise, St Paul’s picked up the two-points on offer on Friday night as they travelled to Tullysaran.

Darren Fox nailed the match-winning goal for Ronan Clarke’s side, who ran out 1-12 to 0-12 winners.

Gavin Conlon and Mark McKeever top scored for the home side on the night as they hit 0-4 apiece.

Barry Toner, James Madden, Ciaran O’Riordan and Eddie Mallon also chipped in with scores for Tullysaran.

Grange picked up their second win on the trot as they overcame Shane O’Neill’s by the minimum of margins.

One-point separated the teams at the full-time whistle with Grange edging out a 0-11 to 0-10 win.

Division 2B Round Up

Belleek claimed an eighth win on the trot on Thursday night as they defeated Clonmore by 11-points.

Callum O’Neill and James McParland raised green flags for the home side as they won on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-5.

Robbie McGuinness nailed the all-important goal for Whitecross as they saw off Cross IIs by three-points.

A trademark solo run from Mark Shields cut open the home defence as McGuinness finished to the net. That gave the visiting side a 1-8 to 0-8 win.

Elsewhere in Division 2B, Clann Eireann IIs climbed to third in the table with a 3-13 to 2-9 win over Derrynoose.

A first half goal from Paul Hendron allowed Tir na nOg to see off Wolfe Tones by two-points, 1-8 to 0-9.
