Division 1B – Cullyhanna 1-13 Ballymacnab 0-6

Cullyhanna picked up their fourth victory of the season as they outclassed Ballymacnab on Wednesday night. An early goal from Neil McCreesh put the hosts ahead and they stayed there for the rest of the contest.

Ciaran Connolly swapped scores with Casey while Paudi Shea McKeever and Gary Mackin also pointed. Ryan Watters pulled one back for the visitors to leave four the difference at the break, 1-6 to 0-5.

Donnelly (2), McKeever and Kieran McCooey pushed that lead out to eight with the first four points of the second half. Grugan grabbed the Nab’s only point after the turnaround, as Cullyhanna raised three more white flags through Caolan Reavey (2) and Duffy.

St Peter’s 2-15 Maghery 2-11

St Peter’s pulled off an incredible comeback to overcome Maghery and drag themselves off the bottom of the table. Maghery led at the break, 2-9 to 1-4, but the home side fought back with a super second half showing.

Caolan Maguire opened the scoring, but it was all one-way traffic during the early exchanges. Kevin Robinson kicked four-points in a row (two frees) before Michael Branagh hit the back of the net.

Brendan Haveron and Niall McAlinden (mark) grew their advantage before St Peter’s finally responded with a Gavin McCormack free. Stefan Forker and Andrew McAlinden traded scores while Matthew Mackle grabbed a second goal for Maghery.

Ronan Branagh and Padraig O’Keefe split the posts before Aaron Findon offered St Peter’s a lifeline with a goal. Niall McConville chipped over a point for the hosts to leave his side trailing by eight at the break.
