Division 2A Round Up

Carrickcruppen remain at the top of the Division 2A table following their convincing win over Grange on Friday. 18-points separated the sides at full time, with goals from Ben Matthews, Ross Magee and Eoin Kane helping Cruppen earn a 3-19 to 0-10 away win.

The Ogs are in second spot, just one-point behind the league leaders thanks to a two-point win over Keady. Pearse Og built up a six-point advantage by the time the short whistle sounded. They led 1-5 to 0-2 at the break.

Keady raced back into the game in the second period but goals from Ruairi McCay, Ruairi Duffy and Cian O’Hara gave the Ogs a 3-8 to 1-12 victory. Shane O’Neill’s picked up their fourth win of the campaign, beating St Paul’s by two, 1-10 to 0-11.

Division 2B Round Up

Belleek captured the Division 2B league title on Friday night. They saw off Tir na nOg by the minimum of margins. After back-to-back defeats on the road to Derrynoose and Wolfe Tones in recent weeks, Belleek got back to winning ways in Portadown.

It was a 10th victory of the campaign for Belleek, who have earned promotion to Division 2A for next season with two games remaining. Cross IIs picked up their first victory of the season after a couple of close shaves. They beat Clann Eireann IIs by two-points.

Bernard Cassidy claimed the all-important goal for the Rangers while Johnny Murtagh chipped in with 0-7 (2f). Johnny McKeever had an inspirational display at wing back and chipped over 0-2 in their 1-10 to 0-11 victory.

Whitecross earned their second one-point win in a row as they nudged passed Wolfe Tones on Friday night, 0-9 to 1-5. That sees them take fourth spot and Whitecross are still in the promotion shake up.
