Division 3A & 3B Previews – Gameday 14

Division 3A

There is an intriguing battle at the top of the Division 3A table this week as Forkhill clash with Middletown. Both sides have plenty 12 games, with Forkhill sitting on 18-points and Middletown on 16-points.

The two teams are vying for top spot and not only guaranteed promotion, but the league title as well. Forkhill have been on an incredible eight game run that sees them claim the spot at the top of the table.

They have hit an incredible 23 goals during that eight-game winning streak and are the team to beat at the minute. Middletown have won four of their last five games, and keeping the goals out will be key for them.

Ballyhegan sit in second place in the table, splitting the other two teams in the top three with 17-points. They host Lissummon on Friday night, who are battling at the other end of the Division 3A table.

Collegeland are best placed to claim that fourth spot in the league and they are on the road this weekend. They travel to Eire Og, who are just above the relegation zone at the minute but not yet safe.

Elsewhere, St Michael’s, who are in the same spot as Eire Og, take on An Port Mor on home turf. A win for the visitors, last year’s Division 3B winners, would secure their status for another season.

Division 3B

Thomas Davis were crowned Division 3B league winners last weekend despite suffering their first defeat of the season. They lost out to St Peter’s but won nine games on the trot before that to earn the title.

The only action in Division 3B this week is in Division 3B2, with four of the five teams locking horns on Friday night. Madden IIs will enjoy home advantage against Killean while Killeavy IIs are away to Mullabrack.
