Division 2A & 2B Match Reports – Week 14

Division 2A Round Up

Tullysaran picked up a third Division 2A victory in four outings as they saw off Shane O’Neill’s by the minimum of margins on Friday night. The pair drew when they last shared the field just three weeks ago, while one-point separated them this time around.

A late goal from Mark McKeever looked to have earned a share of the spoils for the home side, but there was one final twist left in the game. Defender Barry Toner popped up to fist over what would prove to be the winning score.

Two-points were the difference when the referee sounded the short whistle, with Tullysaran ahead 0-8 to 0-6. Shane O’Neill’s pulled away in the second half to lead by three before McKeever levelled the game with a major.

Toner then earned a victory for Tullysaran with the final score coming in injury time. Gavin Conlon top scored with 0-7 on the night while McKeever nailed 1-1. Toner grabbed 0-2, as Matthew Kernan, Adrian Conlon, Ciaran Mullen and James Madden hit 0-1 each.

Pearse Og climbed to the top of the Division 2A league table with an away day victory over Annaghmore. The Ogs raced into a 0-7 to 0-1 lead by half time and earned a 0-15 to 0-7 victory in the end.

Division 2B Round Up

Crossmaglen IIs picked up the two-points on offer in Friday night’s only Division 2B game of the weekend. They hosted Clonmore and the game was a dead rubber as both sides have already been relegated.

Still, the Rangers captured their third win of the campaign and their third victory on the trot with a 4-9 to 0-12 triumph. Ronan Stuttard, Sean Hand, Pierce Hanratty and Johnny Murtagh all hit the net for the Rangers.
