We are now down to the final eight teams left competing in the Junior Championship after last week’s playoffs. One of those eight teams are now just three wins away from capturing the Sean Quinn Cup.

Redmond O’Hanlon’s, An Port Mor, Clonmore and Crossmaglen IIs had already made it through to the quarters by topping their groups. Ballyhegan, Middletown, St Michael’s and Thomas Davis have now joined them.

They had to take the slightly longer route but their playoff victories have qualified them for the quarter-finals. Killeavy IIs, Eire Og, Clady and St Peter’s IIs all exited the championship last weekend.

Redmond O’Hanlon’s go-to forward Daragh McNulty remains at the top of our hot shots list for the second week in a row. He recorded 3-28 for his side as they topped Group A to advance straight to the quarters.

Fionnan O’Braonain retuned to second place having once again top scored for Middletown last weekend. He has racked up 3-23 in the four games Middletown have place in the championship so far.

O’Braonain was Middletown’s top scorer throughout the group stages and rattled off 1-4 last weekend in their playoff victory over Eire Og. That brings his tally to 3-23 for the season and they now face Cross IIs in the quarter-final.

Sean Quigley of Clonmore slips down to third place and he is currently the top goal scorer in the competition. He has registered 8-3 from the half back line across Clonmore’s three championship outings to date.

Ryan Gorman has nailed the exact same total of 2-20 with both of his majors coming against Dorsey. Liam Doyle also has 0-26 to his name, with his four goal haul against St Peter’s IIs seeing him finish with 4-14.

Thomas Davis attacker Adam Loughran has been in brilliant form and he has nailed 1-21 in their four games. Cahal Cunningham is the second Clonmore player on the hot shots list and he has shot off 3-13.
