St Peter’s 1-14 Culloville 2-10
A sensational second half comeback saw St Peter’s book their place in the SFC quarter-finals at the expense of Culloville. The Lurgan side were seven down just before the break but managed to turn things around.
The black card to Gavin McVerry towards the end of the opening period proved to be a major turning point. With the man advantage after the turnaround, St Peter’s looked a different team and kicked six unanswered scores.
Niall McConville was immense in the second half and covered every blade of grass for his side. Ruairi McDonald and James Moore, the match winner in the end, were other standout performers.
Fergal Kieran grabbed the games first score while St Peter’s hit the net at the other end through Patrick McGibbon after five minutes. Moore made it a three-point game but Culloville got back on level terms with a Ryan Duffy major.
Two-points from Paul Kingdom followed by further scores from Taidgh O’Neill, McVerry and Kieran made five the difference. A two-point free from McDonald pulled St Peter’s back into it but they were still second best.
The Blues grabbed a second three-pointer through Oisin O’Neill while McConville hit the final score of the first half. That left St Peter’s six-points adrift at the interval with Culloville up 2-7 to 1-4.

McConville grabbed four of the first five points of the second half with Oisin Ginesi claiming the other. Emmet Haughian also drove forward from the half back like to split the posts and tie up the game.
Duffy and McDonald traded scores, as did Kingham and Oisin Haughey while McGibbon and Kieran also cancelled each other out. The chance to win the game fell to Moore who made no mistake in the dying seconds.
