There are only four teams left in the Intermediate Championship and they’ll all have their eyes set on claiming the title. Shane O’Neill, St Paul’s, Sarsfields and Grange all picked up wins in the quarter-finals at the weekend.
Grange were the top scorers in the quarter-finals, posting 2-17 in their three-point win over Clann Eireann IIs. St Paul’s were next in line as they kicked 1-19 while seeing off Forkhill with two-points to spare.
Jemar Hall was the top scorer from the past weekend, although his Forkhill side ended up on the losing end of their tie. Andrew Murnin (0-9) and Paul McGeown (1-6) were the other top scorers.
Hall and McGeown are currently joint top scorers in the Intermediate Championship, with both having played four games. Hall’s final tally is 2-27 after his side were knocked out while McGeown sits on 3-24.
The 2024 All-Ireland winner claimed both of his majors against Collegeland in the final round of the group stages as Forkhill topped the group. He top scored for his side in all four of their championship meetings.
McGeown shot over six-pointed frees during the first half of their win over Keady. He then tucked away a second half penalty. His previous two goals both game against Tir na nOg before hitting the net again at the weekend.
