Clonmore 0-15 Thomas Davis 0-8
Clonmore claimed their spot in the Junior Championship decider with a comfortable victory over Thomas Davis. Eight points, including six from frees, from Cahal Cunningham helped Clonmore through.
Thomas Davis hitting a scoring spree at the end of the first period, closing the gap to three at the halfway stage. Clonmore were the better team on display and 20 years on from their first championship success, they’ll aim to repeat the feat.
Clonmore’s whole full forward of James Grimley (free), Cahal Cunningham (free) and Raymond McBennett all split the posts inside the first six minutes. Jordan King got Thomas Davis up and running as he opened their account.
Clonmore nailed another three in a row with Cunningham (free), Daniel Cullen and Jodi Nixon raising white flags. Cunningham grabbed his third free to make it a six-point game but Thomas Davis battled back.
They booted over the final three-points of the half through David Hankin, Adam Loughran and David Murphy. That left the men in maroon three-points adrift at the half time interval, 0-6 to 0-3.
Cunningham added another two scores for his side while Loughran slotted over a free. It was all Clonmore for the next ten minutes with Caolan Donaghy (two-pointer), Brendan Donaghy and Cunningham (2).

Thomas Davis needed a goal to give them any hope and the chance feel to King, who blasted it over the bar. Cunningham added another to his tally while Loughran hit two more, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap significantly.
