We now know the two clubs that will compete for Intermediate glory this season with Sarsfields and St Paul’s reaching the decider. They won their respective semi-final showdowns, knocking out Grange and Shane O’Neill’s.

St Paul’s were the highest scores from the weekend as they registered 2-18 against the Camlough men. Sarsfields weren’t too far behind as they kicked 2-17 in their 12-point win over Grange.

Paul McGeown has a big impact for the High Moss men and he was the highest scorer of the semi-finals with 1-8. Andrew Murnin was right on his tail and he contributed 1-6, including the winning score, for St Paul’s.

McGeown remains at the top of our Intermediate Championship hot shots list for the second week in a row. He has been the leading light in the Sarsfields attack and has been their top scorer in all five of their outings.

He has rattled the net in his last two appearances, raising green flags against both Keady and Grange. His tally of 1-8 on Saturday evening brings his overall championship total to 4-32 heading into the final.

Next in line

Murnin isn’t too far off the top and he has registered 4-27 across St Paul’s six championship outings. In the absence of the injured Eoin McConville, Murnin has really stepped forward to fill that scoring void.

He has been the top scorer for Shane McConville’s side in the last three game and has contributed 4-27 in total. 2-23 of that tally has came in the last three games of the Intermediate Championship.

Ruairi O’Brien finishes his campaign with 2-30 to his name and he kicked 0-5 for Shane O’Neill’s on Sunday evening. O’Brien has been the go-to forward for the Camlough men throughout their run.

Forkhill’s Jemar Hall is in fourth position on the leaderboard with 2-27 while Ethan Rafferty of Grange is on 3-23. The bottom three men on the hot shots list haven’t been affected by the semi-final contests.

Eoin McConville of St Paul’s and Derrynoose youngster are both on the exact same scoring tally of 1-26. Derrynoose’s Conor McNally is also on the hot shots list as he kicked 1-23 in the championship.
