Cuchulainns 0-18 Killeavy 0-6
Cuchulainns were crowned as Armagh’s first ever Intermediate Hurling champions with a comprehensive win over Killeavy this afternoon.
Man of the Match Lee Murtagh led the scoring with 0-11. Connor Devlin anchored an impressive defensive unit which held Killeavy scoreless for the entire second half.
Despite the convincing full-time result, the first quarter of the game was dead even. The sides were level on four occasions.
Lee Murtagh accounted for his side’s first three of the day, with Killeavy’s Conor Hannaway scoring their first two.
Joseph O’Connor and Aaron Cullinane then traded points, before a long range free from Hannaway tied the scoring up at 0-4 apiece.
That was the last time in the game that the two sides were on even terms however, and Cuchulainns rattled off the next four points via Cullinane and three Lee Murtagh frees.
Killeavy were just the two points down at the break however, following scores from Hannaway (free) and Darren McMullen.

After a keenly contested opening 30 minutes, it was one way traffic after half-time and the Armagh City side dominated their opponents and outscored them 0-10 to 0-0.
Lee Murtagh continued to show deadeye accuracy, as he launched over two frees, which were followed by scores from play by Jordan Murtagh and Jack Scallon.
Lee Murtagh then nailed two more frees, either side of another Jordan Murtagh score. Then Scallon, Lee Murtagh (free) and substitute Ciaran Duffy completed the rout with the final points of the game.
