Mullabrack 6-6 Grange 1-7

Mullabrack rattled off six goals to defeat Grange and win the Intermediate Championship at Middletown on Sunday. They claimed four majors during the opening period and nailed another two after the turnaround.

Having lost the decider last year, Mullabrack made no mistake this time around. Mullabrack’s first three scores of the first half were all three-pointers as they raced ahead during the early exchanges.

Nicole O’Reilly was the star for the winning side as her hattrick of goals helped them get their hands on the trophy. She grabbed all four goals in the opening half and she finished with a tally of 3-2.

Corner forward Amy Gribben also nabbed two goals as she finished with 2-1 on the day. Aoife Farrell also rattled the back of the net for the eventual champions as she recorded a personal haul of 1-1.

Aine Rice and Naoise Hughes also got their names on the scoresheet, with both splitting the posts on one occasion. Mullabrack led 4-4 to 0-3 at the break and ended up winning by 14-points in the end.

For Grange, Hannah Duffy was their main source of scores as she grabbed all but one of their points on the day. Midfielder Eva Conway rattled the net for them while Dervla Mallon also split the posts.
